The return of the kingmaker dealmaker
The return of M&A is here with Cisco's $28bn deal to buy Splunk in a dual AI/Cyber play and Blackstone/Permira´s ‘non binding indicative proposal’ for Adevinta in what would be a $10bn plus deal. We are hearing more and more chatter from our banker friends about a serious comeback of strategic and sponsor activity. It is also clear that LBO financing is returning. It seems like "Dry Powder" is more important than higher financing costs. One thing is for sure, M&A never dies....and it will matter for sentiment.
