Meet Your New Border Czar

Over the weekend, President Trump announced that his former ICE Director, Tom Homan, would be replacing Kamala Harris as America's new Border Czar.

As with other Trump announcements since the election, the message is that the Trump 2.0 administration means business--with mass deportations and its other policies. In an X thread, our friends at America 2100 point out that America has successfully conducted mass deportations before, and explain how we can do so again. 

Before we get to that, a brief Trump Trade update. 

Trump Trade Update 

So many names associated with Trump have exploded since the election, that I'm just going to highlight two here in which my subscribers and I have positions, Tesla (TSLA) and Bit Digital (BTBT). 

Tesla: Last Monday, we opened a call spread on Tesla, betting on the stock hitting $350 by next December. This was the "less-contrarian long term trade" mentioned below. 

As it happened, Tesla hit $350 a week later. 

Bit Digital: This is the Bitcoin miner whose CEO we interviewed here last month.

Bit Digital spiked 26% on Monday, as Bitcoin hit new highs and we exited a few of our calls on it for a 207% gain. 

We're holding more calls on BTBT, as we're expecting more upside from here.

We've Done It Before--And We Can Do It Again 

There have been various points in American history—under both Republican and Democrat presidents—where we've mobilized resources to repel a border invasion.

To be clear, what President Trump is aiming to do is more ambitious.

As of June 2023, an estimated 16.8 million illegal aliens lived in the US. Some estimate it's far more.

Let's put that in perspective.

750 agents removed over 1 million illegal aliens in 1954.

Today, we have 21,000 Border Patrol agents—and far more sophisticated security, surveillance, and enforcement technology.

Local officials "had friends among the ranchers."

Border Patrol agents "did not dare" arrest illegal workers on certain farms because their bosses had political connections.

On June 17, 1954, "Operation Wetback" began. It started in California and Arizona—by mid-July, it had extended into the rest of the interior.

What this shows is that large-scale mass deportations are not only possible—they become easier as you go. Once you start deporting en masse, many illegals will voluntarily leave the country.

As for the "cost" of mass deportations—that's just a silly argument.
