The Dog That Didn't Bark

Minutes before Biden's much-anticipated "Big Boy" press conference on Thursday, a rumor swirled on X that he was going to announce that he was stepping down. Of course, that didn't happen.

But it didn't stop the media from trying to force him out anyway.

The Knives Come Out For Biden

The media went from gaslighting us about Biden's obvious examples of senility, like wandering off in the middle of a G-7 photo op, to pouncing on every Biden flub during last night's press conference.

Of course, the malice hasn't been limited to the media.

Biden Clears The (Very Low) Bar

Despite the flubs, such as referring to Zelensky as Putin, or Vice President Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump", Biden's performance was better than in his disastrous debate last month, and better than his last interview. Once he got rolling, he started to slow down his speech, which reduced the number of errors, and also helped kill the clock.

It also didn't hurt that Biden's been a liar and a blowhard for so long that it camouflages his senility to some extent.

Russia! Russia! Russia

Biden's argument about NATO keeping American families safe from Russia brought to mind Chris Rock's famous line from his classic "Bring The Pain" special in the 1990s. In that special, Rock dismissed claims by some African Americans that the reality of black crime was being exaggerated by the media:

When I go to the money machine tonight, alright, I ain't looking over my back for the media, I'm looking for niggas! Shit, Ted Koppel ain't never took shit from me. Niggas have, so, you think I've got three guns in my house 'cause the media outside?

Astonishingly, it turns out Joe Biden had a more rational view of the Russian threat during the Cold War. In 1972, when he first ran for the U.S. Senate, he mocked the much-older incumbent for worrying more about Russians than, essentially, what Chris Rock said.

Let me pull out that second image, for those of you who didn't click on the post above:

Apparently, Joe Biden no longer understands what's happening today, and he was abetted by girlboss militarist Kaja Kallas, the Prime Minister of pipsqueak NATO member Estonia in saber-rattling at Russia.

A Hopeful Note Elsewhere

While Joe Biden was angrily railing at Russia in Washington, and contradicting himself about whether he would be willing to negotiate with Vladimir Putin, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who met with Putin several days ago, was meeting with Trump in Mar-a-Lago about how to end the Russia-Ukraine war.

Friday Evening Update

For those comparing Biden to Reagan, here's Reagan's last press conference as President. As you can see, he was far sharper than Biden.
