The New York Times Admits Ukraine Is Losing The War
"Russian Propaganda" In The New York Times
The U.S. Navy's strikes in Yemen have dominated the international news in recent days, so some may have missed an extraordinary story over the weekend. For the last two years, Ukraine War supporters on social media have characterized any claims that Russia may be winning the war as Russian propaganda, but they will be hard-pressed to do the same with this New York Times article, "Russia Regains Upper Hand in Ukraine's East as Kiev's Troops Struggle".
If you're pressed for time, the X thread below does a good job of summarizing the article.
The shortage of equipment is so acute they are cutting into year old destroyed armor, having already salvaged all the good parts and now just getting the bare metal:

Ukraine's causalities are so bad and they are so nihilistic they are propping up alcoholics to fire guns. At least that isn't as bad as the soldier with Down Syndrome being mocked in the trenches:

This post includes the video the Down Syndrome soldier Pearce referred to above.

Back to Pearce's thread:
TWO artillery shells allowed them to work for the first time in days. They had not fired there artillery since four days before. Meanwhile, they are under constant bombardment by Russia

The clear reality is that, ignoring all the mistakes in the leadup, the absolutely should have gone with the agreement in Istanbul to prevent all of this. Russia will not stop without Odessa and the associate coastline, Ukraine will be lucky if allowed use of the port

Ignoring that a fine peace agreement was reached in Istanbul, it could be said that there was a time, in the Fall of 2022, where Ukraine's effort perhaps put it in a better position to negotiate than folding right away. That time has long since passed.

However, Boris Johnson, our foreign policy class, and the wine moms and basement dwelling teenagers who support Ukraine will never admit they were wrong to do any of this, no matter how bad it all ends. It will always be that they didn't have a choice.

Unlike those monsters who "support" Ukraine, I didn't want Ukrainians to die, I didn't want Ukraine to be destroyed, I didn't think it was appropriate to use that misfortunate people to bleed Russia. I wanted peace, and knew it was entirely attainable.

I suppose with this getting noticed, I was remiss to not direct people to my newsletter, which some people seem to enjoy:https://t.co/BnCwrzbOG2

Hopefully, the NYT shedding light on this will finally expedite the end of this war.
