Four months ago, tech hedge funds were sitting on one of the best years in their history. As of 4pm Thursday, they have nothing to show for it.

That's the punchline from Goldman's Prime Services desk, where Marco Laicini's end-of-day Prime HF update  (available to pro subs) estimates that TMT funds fell more than 4% today and are now "roughly flat to slightly positive YTD, down from about +24% before the June/July AI sell-off." In other words, the entire AI windfall of 2026 is gone, and it took a little over four months to give back.
