Zelensky Hails Kursk As Game-Changer: Is He Right? 

Saturday marks Ukraine's Independence Day, which hearkens back to its modern independence of 1991, now 33 years since it declared its break from the Soviet Union.

President Volodymyr Zelensky used the ongoing Kursk operation to boast that his armed forces have now effectively "returned" the war to Russian soil. He said in a televised speech full of bravado that Kyiv "surprises once again" with its offensive and vowed that Russia "will know what retribution is."
